Timbaland and Nelly Furtado--Thieves.
right. Nelly Furtado's (and other's) famed producer stole the
work of an independent musician (Janne Suni, AKA Tempest), a piece
called Acidjazzed Evening. The song was a straight rip, not a quote or
a cover [nor a penny], and was made into Nelly Furtado's song "Do It".
But point that gun away from Nelly, don't blame Furtado for this,
Timbaland is the guy who's supposed to come up with the beat/acoustic.
Nelly just sings and girates in music videos.
happens all the time with rap music. Timbaland happened to get caught
because he was lazy and didn't bother changing the sample. DJ Quik/Dr.
Dre got caught thieving a sample a couple years back with that track
"Addictive". I hope, and I'm sure that Timbaland will get the pants
sued off him.
The whole story can be found here: http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthr... -Yahoo Ans.
Or if you don't feel like reading much, a slimmed down version here.
Just more proof that there is no more originality nor shame in the
music industry today. Timbaland needs to pay his dues. Nelly Furtado
must report to my bedroom.
Insert penis here.
Spread the word on this money-hungry, uncreative, thief.
