Like To Dislike.
Are humans programmed to criticize? To dislike and question everything?
If a book is made into a movie, it's quickly dismissed by those who feel "it isn't like the book."
If a video game is made into a movie, people shun it.
If a movie had a video game adaption, it's rarely praised.
Do you really dislike Justin Bieber and Twilight or is it because the Internet and Reddit told you so? Have you even listened to or watched the aforementioned?Why is that?

I CUT FOR BIEBZ!
I think it's definitely human nature to criticize and make others feel bad, because as competitors, we don't like to see other people succeed. People are jealous of Bieber because of how famous he is and how much money he makes. It's not him I have anything against, it's all of his stupid fangirls that put him on a pedestal and think they have a shot with him. He's just another boy with money that will ignore you. now for Twilight... I have not read the books, but saw about the first 20 mins of the first movie, and couldn't even make it through the first half. it was terrible, terrible enough to never want to try watching again, nor do I want to see any of the others. I don't like movies of that genre, so that's the first strike, the popularity of the series is the second, and the horrible acting and production of the movie itself is the third. I don't hate things just to hate them. it's childish and it just makes you look bitter and pathetic.
People are over-entertained and desensitized to enjoyment. We've spent our whole lives consuming incredible feats of creativity like Star Wars and Skyrim and whatever else is awesome, and our familiarity with awesomeness has fooled us into expecting that level of quality out of everything we consume. We are like children who have spent our entire lives eating chocolate, who are now cynical because not everything is chocolate, and chocolate itself has bored us to numbness. We fucking suck and don't know how to enjoy stuff anymore.
I don't hate. I just don't get Justin Bieber or Twilight. Personally, I don't get why Justin Bieber is as popular as he is. He ain't all that. (Yes, it's my opinion, Beliebers, so you can bite me.) As for Twilight, I never understood the phenomenon. I'm sorry, but who cares about a sparkling, needy vampire and the co-dependent girl who loves him. (And, yes, you Twi-hards can bite me, too.) Heh, what's the point again?
I sometimes dislike popular things just because I'm so cynical---they can't be that good. Other times it's definitely jealousy, and I'm like heart leigh in that sometimes, I just don't get it. Fifty Shades of Grey---wtf?

cuz that's how we make progress!! if we didn't question things we wouldn't have come up with so many different theories and practices for everything. the enlightenment and all that. woOoO
there is a lot of stuff out there i can just tell by the marketing is not going to be my style; is not going to be fulfilling. but i'm an old narrow minded fart now.. so there ya go.

Yeah I think we're programmed to criticize for benevolent reasons and to avoid detriment. But that sense of judgment has been distorted, abused and corrupted.
For many it has to do with being afraid of being different. Suppress your own thoughts and opinions and follow the crowd or the in-crowd. Jump on the band-wagon. Do what everybody else is doing or what's deemed 'popular' or 'fun' and 'cool' regardless if it's offensive, hostile, demeaning, derisive, ridiculing, detrimental or anything else negative like that. Because if it's not what the masses, the crowd or the popular, cool people are doing it's lame. Then you'll become their next target of negative, unjust criticism.
Everyone has the capacity for both.
Many shows or movie series I've watched or currently watch were on my "I'm gonna make fun of it because everybody else is doing it and I can't think for my damn self" list.
Then again, there will always be things that I will dislike for rational reasons.... With a few irrational ones like music with certain "twang" on them.
I'm so impressionable, but now this post has made me so confused . . . Should I hate JB or love him to death? Twilight . . . what?
