who clicks the rec button by mistake? the Submit and Recommend button aren't even close to one another.

You should only be able to rec once a day ... and I'm pretty sure no one can accidentally rec a post. It's just not plausibe.
(and the reccing DOES need ot be changed. It's not letting me rec this)

@stupid_systemus - no. because that limits people on what they read, and the more they read, the more ad revenue xanga receives. its not conducive to team play.
Leave recs as they are. if you want to unrec, go to reddit or some more relevant site that actually listens to its user base.

@SlackerSociety - Separate tab in the public feed? Nothing wrong with recs. It's just that it buries your subscriptions and replies to your comments so far below. The only way of knowing is if you turned on email notifications. The best way right now to read all subscriptions is through email.

I don't think there should be an option to un-rec, but rather a limit on how many times one can recommend a post per day.
@whotakethmycoke - It's actually happened to me before. I had meant to 'Email' the entry rather than 'Rec' it. Plus, I can be indecisive at times and change my mind.

Well if it's a problem of accidentally clicking the rec button, then an having an alert that says "Are you sure you want to rec this post? Yes / Cancel" should be sufficient.
On the other hand, I do think some people are trigger happy with the rec button.

should have a thumbs up or thumbs down system, like the one on youtube.
And when you rec comments, there should be a way to indicate what the original post was, so people don't have to go back to the same post they didn't want to read 10 times because people recommended 10 different comments.
