Geezus, I'm old. Today marks my 11th year owning this Xanga account. It was created the year after 9/11 happened, and when the US (of 'MURICA!) started the war in Iraq. I remember my first post vividly; and the irony of it all. And with time comes experience, and many eProps that I'll never use (stupid, worthless eProps!). So here are...11 Things I've Learned About Xanga Over the Years.- If you don't show your face in your profile picture, you've got something to hide; you're probably ugly.
- Everyone here is an attention whore to an extent.
- It's very cliquey on Xanga. I thought I escaped all of that after high school. I was wrong.
- Xanga spell check isn't always akkurate.
In 2001, the iPhone didn't even exist!
- Xanga has more porn than your father's secret stash in the attic.
- The ratio of good writers to mediocre is 1:1000; they are real treasures. You think you write well, but you don't. Just because someone left a positive comment on what an "amazing" poet you are should not get to your head.
- Same applies for photographers.
- You should always save your work (ctrl+c posts). Nothing is safe!
- Xanga is on the decline. Its last breath.
- Pulse was the original Twitter.
- You will meet some wonderful people here, some have even gone through marriage.

I learned that Datingish is now a cesspool of the 7th and 8th bowels of hell.
I met a lot of good and interesting peopleon xnga! Xanga is the best place to hide from ur offline friends if u want to have some space for urself.
I learned that I could meet new people through Top Blogs. Also, replying on comments used to be a back and forth on someone else's site. Now it's easier.

I have learned there are some very precious gems here on xanga.
I have also learned there are some very chicken shit people here.
I have learned to never trust anyone again.

I have learned how crazily connected some of us are, without knowing it. Been some good years on Xanga, and I will have good memories of Xanga whenever it finally keels over.

2. Never to click on the picture of the woman with the giant cleavage because it'll invariably take me straight here.

2003 here. I've seen xanga change for the worse. It is not what it used to be. Bullies and cliques took over because xanga's userbase is so damn small. The staff has done everything to deserve and ensure xanga's demise.

Apart from moments when I can no longer do simple math, reading current and old entries is another way to prove I'm getting stupider. I often feel it's the case but can't prove it. I wouldn't know that if it weren't for Xanga. I talk without listening to myself and nobody bothers to tell me if and when I sound like a retard. But it's all good! Being aware of it is all I need.
It is clique-y. I've learned that you can definitely entertain yourself on this website though. Even though the writing isn't always the best, there are definitely unique perspectives and stories out there.
