There should be a bunch of provisos in it:

    1. It's okay to use the same side of the hashi (chopsticks) to pick at community food among close family and close friends. When I say 'close', I don't mean your relatives that you see only once a year.
    2. When you mix your wasabi and shoyu (soy sauce) you don't have to mix it completely and you don't have to leave it separated either. Find your groove and stick with it.
    3. Most of the time you will want to eat nigiri sushi in one bite (tamago being the exception because of its size), but sometimes your maki sushi will be too large, especially futo maki. Don't be an idiot with a mouth full of sushi, unable to chew.
    4. The ginger is meant to be used between different types of sushi, to clear your palate.
    5. Don't fill your soy sauce and wasabi completely to the rim.
    6. Drink only liquids that are light; this is not prime rib.
    7. If you have to break apart your chopsticks to use them, you may get splinters if you're not careful. Best method is to roll your chopsticks together between two hands, and not rub them against each other as if you're sharpening steak knives.
